Good Results!!

Just a quick update - The genetics counselor called with our first trimester screening results and everything came back normal! So far, healthy baby!

Active Baby, but Too Big!

So we went in this morning for what was supposed to be a repeat ultrasound for the first trimester screening. Long story short, the baby grew way too much this weekend and is now too big to do the tests. Derek thinks we are going to have a gigantic baby! The tech was nice though and let us get some more pics of the baby, which proved extremely hard since it was crazy active in there. Must have been the orange juice I had this morning....

Still not really showing much, though I don't think it'll be too much longer cause my belly button is really starting to shallow out... will start posting some belly shots soon. maybe. :)

I broke the Machine & Stubborn Baby!

So we went in today for the first trimester screening/genetic counceling appointment. Well we have quite the stubborn baby! They need certain ultrasound shots to check for down syndrome and the baby did not want to get in position! Then half way through, the ultrasound machine just completely shuts down! Now if you are familiar with my lasik catastrophy you will think this is funny. Apparently me and big expensive pieces of equipment just don't do well together. So I have to go back in Monday morning to repeat the ultrasound. Fine with me - more shots of the babe!

We did get to hear the heartbeat today for the first time! 148 bpm!

We also tried to get an early look at the gender, but stubborn baby wouldn't uncross his/her legs. BUT if the ultrasound tech had to guess she would say girl - no obvious male genitalia. We'll find out for sure, hopefully, at the end of March! So no shopping just yet!

And Baby Makes Three!

So right before Christmas Derek and I found out that I am preggers! We are very excited! Official due date is August 25th, 2009.


Here is the first baby pic - an ultrasound taken when I was 8 weeks 2 days...measured 8 weeks 4 days.
