1 Month Already!

Wow - I know everyone says cherish every moment cause they go by quickly, but seriously, I can't believe Aubry is already 1 month old - time has flown by!  So far she has been such a great baby.  She's such a little toot though and already knows exactly how to get what she wants - which is usually for her mom to pick her up! :)  She's gotten so good at tummy time and is getting really strong - she'll pick up and turn her head to face you when you lay behind her!  She also really loves bath time (well she doesn't scream during bath time)!  She only screams when you don't feed her right when she's ready to eat - like when I choose to change her diaper first or when I have to finish pumping - geez, how dare I right! :) But you know, she's a growing girl - gotta eat!  Every now and again we can get a really big smile out of her - but of course, the camera is never ready!  I have so many pictures from this month I can't show them all on this post, but here are some from the "big" events.  Will share more of my favorites later!

Aubry ready for her first trip out of the house - to the Apple store so mommy could buy her iPhone! :)  (which is just about the greatest invention ever, btw)

Holding her bottle already! (ok maybe not, but she did for like a minute!)

Napping in her play pen in the living room

Sleeping in her bassinet in our room (the swaddling thing didn't last long, she doesn't like having her arms confined - now she sleeps in her sleep sack)

Happy Birth Day!!

So excited to announce that Aubry Rae Purvis was born Thursday August 20, 2009 at 3:15 a.m. weighing 6 lb 8 oz and 18.5 in long!

Here's my birth story! So Wednesday morning I woke up around 4 in the morning with some contractions, but I had been having them off and on for a few days, they weren't too painful, and I was able to fall back asleep so I didn't think much of it.  Woke up around 5:30, drove myself to work since Derek was working in Dayton that day, still having some mild contractions.  So I started timing them when I got to work (tracking them in an Excel spreadsheet - yes I know, I'm a dork).  They were still pretty irregular anywhere between 7 and 11 minutes apart and not painful at all.  Around noon they started getting a little closer together and a little more painful so I went downstairs, got a wrap for lunch, came back upstairs, ate, and called the doctor.  They suggested coming on in since they were I think 5 minutes apart at this point.  Well since Derek was in Dayton and not next door like he usually is, I called him & told him to meet me at the house because the Dr said to go on in to the hospital.  So we finally get home, get loaded up, fill the car up with gas, and get back up to the hospital at 3 p.m..  Got checked in and in the room by 4, Dr checked me at 5 - I was I think 4 cm & 70% at this point and my water had not broken yet.  Since I was GBS positive they wanted to administer a full dose (4 hrs) of the antibiotics before they broke my water.  So I laid around laboring about 5 min apart till 10 p.m. when they finally broke my water, but I was still only 4-5 cm.  But at this point the contractions really kicked into gear and by 11:30 p.m. I was asking for the epidural.  So basically at this point I could finally relax a little and continued to labor until 3 a.m. when I felt a gush (the rest of my water breaking), the nurse checked me and I was ready to go!  I pushed twice, waited a few minutes for the Dr to come in, pushed again and she was born at 3:15 a.m.!  Long labor - short delivery! :)  She came out so incredibly perfect!  Here are some pics....

Minutes after birth - happiest parents ever!
